All volunteers for the Nightshelter, which will run from 2nd to 31st January 2014, need to attend the training session on
Friday 22nd November from 7:30pm to 9:30pm
at The Salvation Army Centre, 1 Paul Street, Stratford E15
or on
Saturday 30th November from 9:30am to 11:30am
at Highway Church, 88a Romford Road, Stratford E15
(the same training session will be repeated).
People need to attend even if they've helped in previous years, as some of the plans are different.

A Holy week concert of beautiful music for Passiontide. The concert includes organ works, extracts from Haydn's transcription for string quartet of his The Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross, arias from J. S. Bach's Passions and a complete performance of Pergolesi's Stabat Mater for soprano and countertenor duet.
The concert will run straight through without an interval. Refreshments are included in the ticket price and will be served after the performance.

Appointment of New Chaplain at inSpire
We are pleased to announce that the Bishop of Barking has appointed Rev. Christiana Asinugo as the new co-ordinating Chaplain at Westfield Stratford City and Associate Minister of St Matthew's Church West Ham.
Christiana is currently Curate at St Mary's Church Dagenham. She is no stranger to this area, having lived in Stratford and worshipped at St John's Church for many years, prior to her Ordination in 2009.
Before ordination, Christiana was a midwife. She is married to Emeka and has 4 grown-up children.
The Bishop of Barking will License Christiana at St Matthew's Church on 14th March 2013. This is a 2-year appointment, initially, while Christiana works with Rev. David Richards, and the members of St Matthew's, to explore future options for ministry at St Matthew's.
